6 Songs Used to Torture & Intimidate

I think we all have experienced the same songs playing over and over and OVER again (ahem... 99.7... ahem). Now imagine hearing that same irritating song non-stop for days!…This is a controversial method of torture used by the United States (and other countries, I'm sure) to get the answers they want from prisoners. We've all seen this done in action movies and shows like 24, Le Femme Nakita (oo I loved that show :)) but do you know the top rated songs on this billboard??

“An article by an NYU musicologist in the Journal of the Society for American Music details how music was regularly used in interrogations on bases in Iraq and Afghanistan as a method of inducing disorientation to get suspects to talk without inflicting physical force.”

Here are the 6 Songs often used in Guantanamo Bay to get a confession: (I would assume trance songs and heavy metal music would be used as well---that’s what I’d suggest…)

1. Bruce Springsteen’s “Born in the USA”

2. Christina Aguilera’s “Dirrty”

3. Nancy Sinatra’s “These Boots Were Made for Walking”.

4. AC/DC’s “Shoot to Thrill” and “Hells Bells”

5. Anything by Barry Manilow

6. Barney the Dinosaur’s “I Love You” ← THE WORST IN MY OPINION

Most of these songs I’d give up names, locations and my freedom after 30 seconds!---I think it’s safe to say no terrorist organization will be recruiting my services anytime soon..

In L-O-V-E!!

For awhile everywhere I went I kept hearing the same song! On TV, in a store, in the car, at the gym! It was haunting me! And it was KILLING ME not knowing the name of the song—even more that no one around me, including my German trainer who played the track—didn’t know it either!

So I finally caught it on the radio the other day, recorded the song on my bb—pulled a sentence from the song and found out what it was!! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah finally!

It’s called “This is the life” by Amy Macdonald. I think she’s from Scotland….anyway I love the song and wanted to share. Enjoy! Click here for a listen.

It don't matter if you're Black or White

Now science was never really my forte but I do remember the chapter on genetics, the whole Punnett Square, DNA, yada yada…and it seems the late MJ defied science! Can someone please explain to me how the formally BLACK MAN has WHITE children? Did he change his DNA as well as his skin color? Or did his “disease” do that? You know the one he claims turned him white…

I’m just saying…my father is dark as chocolate, my mom as white as a ghost, and my brother, sister and I all came out mocha latte soooooooooooooooo whats up??

Who wants to buy me a pretty present? :)

How much would you pay for perfume? 60, 70, 90, 150 KD?

How about 24,234 KD ($84,000)? That's how much the worlds most expensive perfume costs!

“Blended by legendary English perfumer Arthur Burnham for fashion house Gianni Vive Sulman, the fragrance -- suitable for both men and women -- was inspired by the Phantom V1 Rolls-Royce.....limited to 173 bottles, each costing a staggering $84,000 (£47,500.)”

“Burnham spent five years developing the scent, going back "into the pre-history of fragrances to create something that wouldn't have been out a place in ancient Egypt."”

“Each bottle comes in its own exquisite marquetry case -- crafted by the same people who make interiors for Rolls Royce and Bentley -- while each marquetry case comes with its own unique diamond and ruby-encrusted key courtesy of jewelers Graff.”

FYI the late King of Pop bought two!

Apparently, there is an even more expensive perfume called Clive Christian No. 1, which makes Perfum V1 look like a steal! Priced at $2,350 per ounce, the limited eddition was $200,000--but only 10 were ever made-5 were sold, and the other 5 went into Christians personal archive. (below)

Maybe I'll just swing by on my Pegasus at pick me up a couple!

The Team that beat Susan Boyle!

I don't know where I have been! But I just saw the team that won Britain's Got Talent. This is unbelievable! I love sh*t like this!

The idea behind Diversity, is people from different ages and professions making up the team (I love the kid with the curly hair-he's awesome!)

There's really not much for me to say...just watch the link! And check out there other performances that are equally good! This group's GOT TALENT!

MICHAEL JACKSON IS DEAD!!

I couldn't believe it...I woke up this morning by a txt from my friend, H, in the states: "Michael Jackson is dead!"

It was unbelievalble! I was supposed to go see him in concert this summer in London! (thank god M II and I didnt buy tickets yet!)

His legacy and King of Pop status will go down in history. Beginning in a band with his brothers, the Jackson 5, at the young age of 11, he later broke off into a solo career topping the charts with almost every album! In his 40 year career his record sales exceeded 350 million records worldwide! Some of my MJ favorites include : thriller, billy jean, black or white, and bad....

Unfortunately, at the end of his life things started going down hill for the King, with accusations of child molestation. First case occured in the 90s which apparently ended in a $20million settlement. But other cases of abuse came forward in 2003, only for him to later be acquitted. He also fell into serious debt having to give up his Neverland Ranch (where most of the absue was said to have occured).

Yet the public couldn't get enough of Jackson and people where lining up for his said last concert tour in London this summer. (INCLUDING ME!)

My thoughts:

I will miss his dearly as an artist! As I'm sure most of the world will. His songs, his performances--we couldn't get enough! As for the accusations about him having molested children, I'm on the fence on that one. His other bazaar behavior like the plastic surgeries, his lifestyle, his unique ability to turn from a black to white man, the fact he named his sons the same name (one is called Prince Michael I and the other Prince Michael II) and other weird stories about the King are just unfortunate. I will miss him for when he was on top, not at the end.

Wow I can't believe he's gone! A world without MJ....May he rest in peace.

In L-O-V-E!!

Several weeks ago my coworker gave me episodes from season 5 of LOST but I was soo busy that I never got around to watching it, until a few days ago and ooo—myyy---goood I LOVE IT! I can’t get enough of this show! The island, the time travel, the relationships, the DRAMA, uuuugh it’s amazing! What I really can’t wait for, is to finally know ALL the answers when this show ends, I heard season 6 is supposed to be the last one…?

2 guess what I’m going to do when I get home!

NO INTERNET!!

I haven't been able to post diddle squat this week because my office internet has flat lined! My only connection to the outside world is through my bb!! I really hoped today it would be better but it's not looking too good people! I think it's all a conspiracy to get me to do some actual work! But with bb in hand-I have out-smarted them once again!! Mwaaahaha (evil laugh)

Gregory David Roberts

Yesterday at work we were watching TV when this interview came up on CNN with this guy named Gregory David Roberts, author of a book called Shantaram--a book I can not wait to read!

This guy's life story is crazy! He was divorced, lost his daughter in a custody battle, turned to heroin, committed armed robbery to pay for his heroin, arrested, escaped from maximum security, helped by motorcycle gang, BLF Union, & revolutionaries to escape to New Zealand......and that's just the beginning! At one point he works for a mafia, fights Russian and Afgan troops in the mountains, forges passports, starts a band, worked on bollywood films, gets arrested a few more times only to escape each time, wrote this book and sold the rights to Johnny Depp!

His interview was soo intriguing I'm really looking forward to his book....and the movie! Click here to go to his website.

Hahaha "i have destroyed the FRY"

The leader of the free world ladies and gentlemen! Nice to know he has learned the ancient death swat---we are in safe hands people!

I think we all now know the President's stand on......................flies. Expect to see this blown up on comedy shows--I can't wait to see what Conan is going to do with this :p

*p.s. I totally love Obama (before anyone gets all fussy-that's you S) just have a lil sense of humor

Experiment واحد

Last night my sister and I decided to go to the “Experiment” exhibit that we heard about on blogs Confasions and P0ach.

“Experiment” was held by three very lovely, educated and creative Kuwaiti women. Originally architects, they decided to showcase their creativity through designing a unique line of handbags. And guys, I was BLOWN away! The materials, the craftsmanship, everything was beautiful and innovative. Price range for these one of a kind designs are between 70-160 KD—and worth every fils!

My sister bought the first two bags (which I can NOT wait to steal—sorry “borrow” :P)

I forgot my camera but here are some pics I took with my BB…

(my sister got the white one! I love how unique it is!)

As you can imagine, the bags sold fast! But you can order designs from them via email, and depending on the bag it will take a few weeks to make and be delivered to you.

I overheard them saying that they might extend the exhibit to today as well, so I suggest everyone head over to take a look around—but just to be sure I’m putting up their contact info.

Are you Educated?

My friend sent this to me, and I thought I'd share it...It's kinda fun :)

Try to name 10 people in this painting--if you can, give yourself a pat on the back you're educated!

O MY LORD!

Soo lately I’ve seen these Emirates a380 commercials on Showtime and I was intrigued, so I decided to find out more about this heaven in the skies.
And here is what I found…

“In July 2000 Emirates became the first airline to sign a firm commitment and place a deposit for the world’s biggest commercial aircraft, initially for seven aircraft, with five further options, collectively worth US$1.5 billion. By November 2007, the award-winning carrier had placed firm orders for 58 A380s."

Now lets get to the good stuff! FIRST CLASS! Oooo myyyyy gooooood! Let me just list the features:

-private suite
-electronically operated door
-mini bar
-ambient lighting
-vanity table
-MASSAGE FEATURES in the chair!
-Flat bed + mattress
-23” TV + 1000 channels
-Option for adjoining suites to share your journey
-Dine-on-Demand a la Carte

JUST LOOK:

To top it off, this massive king of the skies will also be the first in history to feature shower cabins for the exclusive first class passengers! Shower at 45,000 ft anyone??? You’ll have to make your appointment before hand so the trained staff can prepare your shower to your specifications and of course ensure it’s kept immaculately clean! This is a great idea to arrive to your destination refreshed and ready to go!---Better pray for no turbulence!

And a cherry on top would be the first class lounge! Now this I could get used to! After the past few years being everything but stripped searched and hundreds of dollars of products and perfumes DOWN THE DRAIN--I would love to lounge in the clouds and have a relaxing flight :)

As for the rest of the aircraft, the 76 seat Business Class also looks really nice and spacious and features their own lounge as well! Some of the Business Class features include:

-MASSAGE FEATURES

-all seats have aisle access
-privacy divider -mini bar (for each!)
-personal laptop power supply
-XL table
-personal storage
-flat bed

Not bad! Especially if you cant get a first class seat!

And the 399 seat Economy Class is said to have more space and better ambient lighting adding to passengers on flight comfort.

And for all you environmentalist out there this plane ROCKS! Here are some facts just on how the a380 is more environmental than most modern day planes.

"Emirates A380 Environmental Facts:

* The Emirates A380 burns up to 20% less fuel per seat than today’s largest aircraft
* This is the most significant advancement in reducing fuel burn and emissions in four decades
* Low fuel burn means lower C02 emissions. The Emirates A380 produces less than 75g of C02 per passenger kilometer, almost half of the European target for cars manufactured in 2008
* Emirates A380s will progressively feature digital in-flight magazines, entertainment guides and shopping catalogues, saving 2kg per seat or almost one tonne per aircraft
* Emirates A380s, which offers more space per passenger in all classes, will also meet ICAO’s gaseous emissions standards by a substantial margin
* A380s feature lightweight materials that account for 25% of its structure
* Our emissions components – such as NOx – will be well under the regulated ‘cap four’ rule
* Emirates is working with Airbus to further reduce weight of our future A380s
* Larger aircraft mean less takeoff and landings (in passenger terms, some Emirates A380 versions would be the equivalent of flying up to seven smaller aircraft types)
* Emirates average fleet age is less than half that of many European airlines, meaning newer technology and efficiency breakthroughs characterize our aircraft."

"Emirates’ inaugural A380 commercial flight will depart Dubai International Airport at 1100hrs on Friday 1st August bound for New York. It will arrive at John F Kennedy International Airport at 1700hrs local time. The flight, which is already fully booked, will take between 12.5 and 13 hours, compared to 14 hours on a Boeing 777.”

BLAH BLAH BLAH ----WHO'S WITH ME?!?!
*special note to BRG'S: let's take this next summer!

In L-O-V-E!!

I'm in L-O-V-E people! The new Black Eyed Peas album is amaazing! I'm not even completely through it yet, but I was too excited I had to share the tracks I love so far :

-Boom Boom Pow
-Alive
-Missing you
-Party all the time

I'm sure I'll love more-but I just HAD to get online and recommend this album-it rocks!

You know, the weird thing about BEP is I usually don't like their songs at first, and I always bet "my right arm" that it will never be a hit! who knew that my lovely lady lumps and the rest would booom boom pow their way into our hearts! :p (lame, I know, but I couldn't resist lol)

From St. Louis to Prague...

Sooo here I am at work, surfing the web when I came across this story…

Apparently this lovely family took a picture (above left) for their annual Christmas card and posted it on their blog for friends and family to enjoy.

THEN their friends just happen to be going through Prague and saw their friend’s family photo blown up on a storefront window (above right)!

Evidently, the people that made the ad just snatched their picture with no permission and featured it in a local grocery store advertisement.

“What are the chances this small family in St. Louis, USA will see this??” is probably what they were thinking :P Think Again!

Anyway the family had their picture removed and the store apologized.

Let this be a lesson to everyone! If you’re an ad agency purchase your pictures-don’t be cheap and steal other peoples….and if you’re one of those people that would NOT like their family photos featured in ads in Prague or elsewhere, place a watermark on your photo as a quick fix!

Where's Diddy??

A couple months ago, someone sent me this photo of Obama’s inaugural address. The photo (1474megapixel image) was taken using a panorama image-capturing device called Gigapan and a Canon g10 camera.

The photographer had to click 220 snaps from that camera to get this complete view. It took a Mac book pro around 7hrs to process the complete image. The final size of the image is over 2GB.

This is CRAAAZZZZY people! Click on the link below to view the photo. Then zoom ANYWHERE in the photo…the quality is iiiiiinsane!

Do you want a challenge? Try finding P.Diddy in the crowd (I did :P)
