O MY LORD!

Soo lately I’ve seen these Emirates a380 commercials on Showtime and I was intrigued, so I decided to find out more about this heaven in the skies.
And here is what I found…

“In July 2000 Emirates became the first airline to sign a firm commitment and place a deposit for the world’s biggest commercial aircraft, initially for seven aircraft, with five further options, collectively worth US$1.5 billion. By November 2007, the award-winning carrier had placed firm orders for 58 A380s."

Now lets get to the good stuff! FIRST CLASS! Oooo myyyyy gooooood! Let me just list the features:

-private suite
-electronically operated door
-mini bar
-ambient lighting
-vanity table
-MASSAGE FEATURES in the chair!
-Flat bed + mattress
-23” TV + 1000 channels
-Option for adjoining suites to share your journey
-Dine-on-Demand a la Carte

JUST LOOK:

To top it off, this massive king of the skies will also be the first in history to feature shower cabins for the exclusive first class passengers! Shower at 45,000 ft anyone??? You’ll have to make your appointment before hand so the trained staff can prepare your shower to your specifications and of course ensure it’s kept immaculately clean! This is a great idea to arrive to your destination refreshed and ready to go!---Better pray for no turbulence!

And a cherry on top would be the first class lounge! Now this I could get used to! After the past few years being everything but stripped searched and hundreds of dollars of products and perfumes DOWN THE DRAIN--I would love to lounge in the clouds and have a relaxing flight :)

As for the rest of the aircraft, the 76 seat Business Class also looks really nice and spacious and features their own lounge as well! Some of the Business Class features include:

-MASSAGE FEATURES

-all seats have aisle access
-privacy divider -mini bar (for each!)
-personal laptop power supply
-XL table
-personal storage
-flat bed

Not bad! Especially if you cant get a first class seat!

And the 399 seat Economy Class is said to have more space and better ambient lighting adding to passengers on flight comfort.

And for all you environmentalist out there this plane ROCKS! Here are some facts just on how the a380 is more environmental than most modern day planes.

"Emirates A380 Environmental Facts:

* The Emirates A380 burns up to 20% less fuel per seat than today’s largest aircraft
* This is the most significant advancement in reducing fuel burn and emissions in four decades
* Low fuel burn means lower C02 emissions. The Emirates A380 produces less than 75g of C02 per passenger kilometer, almost half of the European target for cars manufactured in 2008
* Emirates A380s will progressively feature digital in-flight magazines, entertainment guides and shopping catalogues, saving 2kg per seat or almost one tonne per aircraft
* Emirates A380s, which offers more space per passenger in all classes, will also meet ICAO’s gaseous emissions standards by a substantial margin
* A380s feature lightweight materials that account for 25% of its structure
* Our emissions components – such as NOx – will be well under the regulated ‘cap four’ rule
* Emirates is working with Airbus to further reduce weight of our future A380s
* Larger aircraft mean less takeoff and landings (in passenger terms, some Emirates A380 versions would be the equivalent of flying up to seven smaller aircraft types)
* Emirates average fleet age is less than half that of many European airlines, meaning newer technology and efficiency breakthroughs characterize our aircraft."

"Emirates’ inaugural A380 commercial flight will depart Dubai International Airport at 1100hrs on Friday 1st August bound for New York. It will arrive at John F Kennedy International Airport at 1700hrs local time. The flight, which is already fully booked, will take between 12.5 and 13 hours, compared to 14 hours on a Boeing 777.”

BLAH BLAH BLAH ----WHO'S WITH ME?!?!
*special note to BRG'S: let's take this next summer!
